About Ledgerly

Shared spending, made clearer.

Ledgerly is a shared expense tracker for people who live, travel or work together. Every group gets its own room: one reliable place for bills, receipts, balances, settlements and the conversation around them.

  • One room per group
  • Settled every month
  • Personal money stays private
Why it exists

Shared costs get messy when the record lives in five places.

A bill is paid in one app, discussed in a group chat, photographed on someone's phone and half-remembered at month end. Ledgerly brings all of that into one room everyone can check.

What we care about

Three rules every part of Ledgerly follows.

One record everyone trusts

Each bill shows who paid, when and for what, with the receipt, comments and an edit history. Bills added by members wait for the host's approval before they count.

Fair by default

Bills split equally unless you set custom amounts, and at month end Ledgerly lists exactly who pays whom to square up.

Shared isn't the same as public

Room bills are visible to that room's members only. Your personal income, expenses and hours are visible to you alone.

Who sees what

Rooms are shared. Finance is yours.

Visible to room members

Rooms

  • Bills, categories, dates and receipts
  • Who paid and each member's share
  • Comments, edit history and month-end balances
  • Members' names, emails and mobile numbers
Visible only to you

Finance

  • Personal income and expenses
  • Monthly totals and pace charts
  • Work hours and estimated wages, saved in your browser

Who's behind it

An independent project by Niraj

Ledgerly started as a way to stop sorting out flat bills in a group chat. It's designed and built by Niraj, and shaped by feedback from the people who use it every month.
